Canon 4
Overview
This canon regulates the collection and distribution of first fruits and tithes, assigning the bishop the responsibility of distributing these offerings to the clergy and church workers.
1Canon of Abtilis: All who bring their first fruits and the first of their livestock, from sheep and goats and cattle, let them bring them to the house of the church, as God commanded. And let them bring the fruits of the trees, which are like this, to the house of the church, or to the residence of the bishop, for he is the one who will distribute them, and he will be careful for the message of the church. And let no one offer from it, except for the sacrifice. And let the bishop distribute them to the priests according to their rank and their message, and let the priests distribute them to the deacons and to all the workers of the church.
