Fragment 21

1As Paul had instructed them, Longus and Cestus the centurion went out early in the morning and approached Paul’s grave in fear. When they arrived, they saw two men praying, with Paul standing between them. When they saw this wonderful marvel, they were amazed. But Titus and Luke, struck with fear of man when they saw Longus and Cestus coming toward them, turned and fled. Longus and Cestus pursued them, saying, “We are not pursuing you for death, but for life, so that you may give it to us, as Paul promised us. We saw him just now standing between you and praying.” When they heard this, Titus and Luke rejoiced and gave them the seal in the Lord, glorifying the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
