The Lord is Crucified
Gospel of Peter (Combined Fragments) · Fragment 4 of 14 · 3 passages
1They brought two wrongdoers and crucified the Lord between them, but he remained silent, as though he felt no pain. When they raised the cross, they wrote on it, “This is the king of Israel.” They laid his clothes in front of him, divided them, and cast lots for them.
2But one of those wrongdoers rebuked them, saying, “We are suffering this way because of the wrong we did. But what wrong has this man, who has become the Savior of humanity, done to you?”
3They became angry with him. They ordered that the legs should not be broken, so that he might die under torture.
