Chapter 41
First Book of Dominos · Section 41 of 74 · 6 passages
1Let the appointment be thus. As she prays at the entrance of the altar and looks down, let the bishop say quietly, so that the priests may hear:
2PRAYER FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF WIDOWS WHO SIT IN FRONT
3O God, the Holy One, the Most High, who sees the humble, who has chosen the weak and the mighty, the Honored One who has also created those things that are despised: give, O Lord, the spirit of power to this your handmaid, and strengthen her with your truth, so that, by doing your commandment and serving in the house of your sanctuary, she may be an honored vessel to you and may glorify you on the day when you glorify your poor, O Lord.
4Grant her power cheerfully to accomplish your teachings, which you have established as a rule for your handmaid. Grant her, O Lord, the spirit of meekness, power, patience, and kindness, so that, bearing your burden with inexpressible joy, she may endure her labors.
5Yes, O Lord God, who knows our weakness, perfect your handmaid for the praise of your house. Strengthen her for edification and as a good example. Sanctify her, make her wise, and comfort her, O God; for blessed and glorious is your kingdom, O God the Father. To you be praise, and to your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, who is good and adorable, the Maker of life and of equal essence with you, now and before all worlds, throughout the ages, and forever and ever.
6The people: Amen.
