Ethiopian Broader Canon
Chapter 51
First Book of Dominos · Section 51 of 74 · 4 passages
1After the teacher finishes, let those who are being instructed pray apart from the faithful and then go out, so that the faithful may learn when the presbyter or deacon reads the New Testament or the Gospels.
2Let the faithful women stand in the church by themselves, and the female catechumens by themselves, apart from the faithful women. Let all the women be apart from the men, and the girls also apart, each according to her order. Let the men stand on the right and the women on the left; the faithful virgins first, and behind them the women who are being instructed in virginity.
3After the prayer, let the female catechumens give the Peace to one another, men to men, and women to women.
4Let every woman also cover her head with her hair. Let the women show their modesty becomingly and decorously in their adornment. Let them not adorn themselves with braided hair or precious stones, lest the young men in the church be ensnared, but with modesty and knowledge. If they do not, let them be instructed by the widows who sit in front. But if they rebelliously resist, let the bishop reprove them.
