Chapter 66

1Let the readers assist them, and likewise the subdeacons. Let them not allow them to sleep, for that night is a figure of the kingdom, especially the night of Saturday. Let those who labor and work continue until midnight. Let the catechumens first be dismissed after receiving blessings from the broken bread.

2When the faithful are dismissed, let them go to their homes in order and with understanding. During their feasts, let them not forget the prayers. Let the priests not shorten their ministries. Let each woman go with her husband. Let the widows remain in the temple until dawn, having food there. Let the virgins remain together in the temple, and let the bishop help and provide for them, while the deacons minister to them. Let the presbyteresses remain with the bishop until dawn, praying and resting. Let those who were recently baptized do likewise. Let virgins who are ready for marriage go with their mothers. This is fitting.
