Ethiopian Broader Canon

Chapter 67

First Book of Dominos · Section 67 of 74 · 2 passages

1Let the bishop command that it be proclaimed that no one is to taste anything until the Offering is completed. The whole body of the Church shall then receive new food. In the evening, let those who are to be baptized be baptized after one reading. But if anyone eats something else before approaching and receiving the Eucharist, he sins, and his fast is not counted.

2When the catechumens are dismissed, let a hand be laid on them. If one of the faithful remains away because of sickness, let the deacon carry the Offering to him. If a presbyter cannot come, let another presbyter carry it to him. Likewise, if a pregnant woman is sick and cannot fast for these two days, let her fast for one day, taking bread and water on the first day. If she cannot come, let a deaconess carry the Offering to her.
