Section 29

1“But all who have transgressed my commandments and taught another doctrine, … Scripture and adding to it, seeking their own glory, and who teach with other words those who sincerely believe in me—if they thereby cause them to fall, they shall receive everlasting punishment.”

2We said to him, “Lord, will there then be teaching by others different from what you have spoken to us?”

3He said to us, “It must happen so that evil and good may be revealed. Judgment shall be revealed upon those who do these things, and they shall be judged according to their works and delivered to death.”

4Again we said to him, “Lord, blessed are we because we see you and hear you declaring such things, for our eyes have seen these great wonders that you have done.”

5He answered us, “Yes, but more blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed, for they shall be called children of the kingdom. They shall be perfect among the perfect, and I will be life to them in the kingdom of my Father.”

6Again we said to him, “Lord, how will people be able to believe that you will depart and leave us? For you say to us, ‘A day and an hour shall come when I will ascend to my Father.’”
